The XDs Meaningless meaning

This is essentially a quick jot to show that even though almost every design companies site says the same crud about what they do, the proof is always in the pudding.

Below is a screenshot from the irritating one-page site design for the XDs, or Experience Design Group. It is for the section about the people that would in this group – 200+ of them they say. What’s the easiest, most efficient and fast possible way you could design a way of browsing all 200+ people, with their stock-like looking head shots, job title and various social network links? You guessed it a carousel.

But that’s not the end of this horror story. Oh no. There is also a hover state on each box, well, I know what you’re thinking, like me you probably think, fab I can find out more about this person with a single click. well you would be wrong. No, this is here just to add a yellow background and stop the carousel.

I do not know what the deal is with these kinds of businesses but if your site is total guff, why should we hire you?
